Homewarming Program

The HomeWarming Program has been established to help people living on lower income to be able to maintain a comfortable, and energy efficient home

You could be eligible to receive:

  • A free heat pump
  • Free draft-proofing
  • Free insulation
  • Other efficiency options that would make heating & cooling your home more affordable and comfortable

Who can apply:

  • You own a single-unit home located in Nova Scotia
  • You live in your home year-round, it is your current primary residence and you do not plan to sell it in the near future
  • Your total family net income* (for all people living within your home) is within the levels shown here:

1 person – $27,250

2-4 person – $50,635

5+ people – $72,113

*(Net income is usually lower than gross income. Check line 236 from your Notice of Assessment.)

The Process:

  1. Submit your application on the HomeWarming website below.
  2. Valley River Heat Pumps will be contacted by The HomeWarming Program to arrange a quote for your space.
  3. The HomeWarming Program will lead the process of arranging & covering the cost of the installation.
